There are three methods for deep hole machining of the hand model: (1) the deep hole of the nesting knife; (2) the long handle twist drill on the general machine tool; (3) the deep hole drilling machine on the special deep hole drilling machine.
1. The nesting knife is used to process deep holes. Deep holes with larger apertures (generally larger than 50mm in diameter) should be processed with a nesting knife. This method reduces the cutting load, thereby increasing productivity and reducing material consumption. When the diameter of the nesting knife is small, the whole welding type is adopted, and when the diameter is large, the assembled type or the adjustable type can be adopted. The tool should be equipped with a wear-resistant insert for guiding. The material can be cloth bakelite, hard alloy, rolling bearing, etc. The blade design should also consider chipping and chip breaking. It is also suitable for mass production.
2. The long handle twist drill is processed on a general machine tool. The long handle twist drill is a long handle welded on a common twist drill. Due to the large axial force during drilling, the two edges of the drill bit are not easy to be ground. The quality of the drill bit is not easy to guarantee, and the rigidity of the cutter bar is poor. Therefore, the vibration is easy to occur during processing, and the center line of the hole is easy to be deflected due to the drill bit. The chip space is limited. In order to chip and cool the tool, the bit must be withdrawn after a length of machining (typically 5 to 10 mm). For spindles with a long axial hole, the way to drill from both ends is used. Therefore, this deep hole processing method has poor quality, low productivity, and high labor intensity. However, since the tool is simple to manufacture, general-purpose equipment can be used, and thus it is widely used in single-piece small-batch production.
3. Use deep hole drilling to process on special deep hole drilling machine. The deep hole drilling deep hole better solves the problems of tool deviation, tool cooling and chip breaking and chip removal in deep hole machining, which significantly improves the processing quality and productivity. Can be machined to deep holes of 10~30. Deep hole machining machines can be used with special deep hole drilling machines or for modification of ordinary lathes.
